Originally a live platform under a different name (2023 - 2025), Avaton was open sourced after becoming defunct. It is a Roblox-style platform built with Laravel (PHP). It features an avatar editing system with image rendering handled by Puppeteer, supports user-generated (UGC) avatar items, and includes a robust moderation system to keep content safe. The admin panel offers support for customizable role scopes for fine-grained permissions, and the project integrates with the SendGrid API for account verification and notifications.
